Any secrets promote distrust, and any government of the people can not keep secrets from the people and really be for the people. the myth of keeping information from someone for their own best interest will feed distrust and the actions that are motivated by it. true democracy empowers all people who choose to know, with all the truth. this has to be the ultimate goal.
